Ribaldo, also known as Deep-sea Cod, is a robust pale grey member of the Cod family found at depths of up to 1200 meters. We catch our Ribaldo using longlines on the continental slope off the wild edge of the world south coast of Tasmania.

Ribaldo has a soft white flesh that is particularly suited to grilling and also most suitable as a steamed fish with Asian flavours.

At Petuna we offer Ribaldo as headed and gutted and as a skin-off fillet.

The average size of our catch is 40 – 60cm and between 1.5 – 3kg.
