Matthew Hayden Pads up to Tasmanian Ocean Trout

Australia’s opening batsman Matthew Hayden has padded up for Tasmania’s Ocean Trout producers for a nationwide campaign to promote Tasmanian Ocean Trout as the fish of choice for this summer.

The campaign will communicate the genuine health and taste benefits that Tasmanian Ocean Trout provides and will also demonstrate to Australians that it is one of the easiest and tastiest dishes imaginable.

Matthew Hayden who has had a long term interest in fishing and cooking is set to release his second cookbook next month after his first cookbook sold out across the country and became a popular addition in many kitchens as it set about demystifying the art of cooking and encouraging the apprehensive to enjoy having a go.

Matthew described the opportunity to be involved with the Tasmanian Ocean Trout campaign as the perfect fit.

“I have loved cooking since I was a little kid. For as long as I remember I was always hungry and I could not see the point of eating uninteresting and boring food so the thing to do was to try to cook meals that were good for you but also very tasty”. Matthew said.

“I also love fishing and my favourite food to prepare is seafood so when I was asked to join this campaign I thought this is the perfect combination”. ‘This is the best seafood you can eat and I get to cook it and design simple recipes that anyone can cook” comments Matthew.

The Tasmanian Ocean Trout marketing campaign will target the major eastern states cities through the summer season. It will involve a strong push through both the wholesale and retail fish outlets. Matthew Hayden’s involvement will involve public appearances and media appearances. Matthew has already designed simple recipes and these will be available at retail fish outlets.

Matthew will also be involved in a competition where the prize winner will win a new $2,000 barbeque with utensils. A special bonus will also deliver Matthew as the guest Chef and the first meal from the barbeque will be cooked by Matthew.

“Tasmanian Ocean trout is not only one of the most healthy meals you could have being so high in omega three and delivering the necessary iodine for muscle efficiency it is just the most simple meal to prepare.” My favourite barbeque dish is the Tasmanian Ocean Trout and it wins on both taste and simplicity” Matthew said.

“We have titled the campaign Tasmanian Ocean Trout; make the seachange because that is what it is about. People need to discover this fish and enjoy it. They actually owe the themselves the experience. The fish is grown in the cool clean southern ocean, it could not come from a more pristine environment and then it has all the good food benefits of good taste, and simple preparation”.

“It could not be better.” Matthew said.

“For quite some time Tasmanian Ocean Trout has been the fish of choice for many of the signature dishes of our top chefs now we want to encourage both new fish eaters and regular fish buyers to make the Seachange to Tasmanian ocean trout” concludes Matthew.
